Welcome to our holiday home Maison le merle rouge in France!
In January 2024, we made our dream come true by purchasing this characterful farmhouse in the beautiful French countryside. From our very first visit, we were impressed by the peace, the space, and the stunning surroundings. We knew immediately that this was a special place we wanted to share with others.
Since purchasing the property, we have worked with great love and enthusiasm to renovate the farmhouse. Jeroen, who runs a home improvement business, has made the house more comfortable and inviting through various upgrades while preserving its authentic charm. Step by step, we are transforming this farmhouse into a warm place where guests feel right at home.
Hospitality is nothing new to us. For years, we have successfully and happily rented out holiday homes to tourists in the Netherlands. It is important to us that our guests feel welcome and can enjoy their stay without a care. We are now bringing that same personal attention and hospitality to our farmhouse in France.
The surrounding area offers everything we love about France: beautiful scenery, picturesque villages, local markets, and plenty of opportunities for hiking, cycling, and enjoying the French lifestyle. Whether you are looking for relaxation, adventure, or a combination of both, you will find the ideal base here.

Our animals
Our farm in France is also home to a number of friendly animals that are part of daily life on the property.
Across the road, you will find our two horses: Jeff, a beautiful Tinker, and Selma, our sweet Shetland pony. They enjoy plenty of space and tranquility there. Since the horses are located on the other side of the road, they do not disturb our guests; however, many visitors enjoy seeing them during their stay.
We also have a dog named Kees. Kees is a friendly companion who lives with us, but to ensure the privacy and comfort of our guests, he does not enter the accommodation grounds.
For animal lovers, Selma, Jeff, and Kees add a delightful touch to the rural atmosphere of our farm. This allows you to enjoy the French countryside—complete with the charm of nearby animals—while still maintaining your peace and privacy.
